Janelle A. Weber, founder of the Law Office of Janelle A. Weber, P.A., earned a Certificate of Completion for Family Law Boot Camp II: Beyond the Basics, Honing the Skills of the Family Law Practitioner.

The seminar, hosted by the Family Court Professional Collaborative, took place on February 15, 2019 at Eagle Coast Distributing in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. It included sessions on paternity, child support, community resources for families with special needs, cross examination of witnesses and experts, and domestication of family law judgments.

“The Family Court Professional Collaborative did a wonderful job demystifying some of the complex issues that family law attorneys deal with on a regular basis,” Weber said. “The principles I learned will certainly assist me in my family law appellate practice.”

Speakers included Circuit Judge Donna P. Berlin, Hearing Officer/Magistrate Laura M. Hale, and attorneys Elizabeth Loeffler, Deborah J. Blue, Carmen R. Gillett, Phillip J. Schipani, and R. Lynette Mancuso.

Judge Berlin’s paternity presentation focused on the various challenges attorneys and judges face when paternity cannot be easily determined. Materials were provided by Circuit Judge Peter R. Ramsberger of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Another presentation showcased the agencies and businesses that provide services to families with special needs parents and/or children and how to handle Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or plans pursuant to Section 504 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
